Historical Note
In May 1984, Trinity United Methodist Church closed as its congregation joined that of Faith United Methodist on West Main Street. Both had been suffering financial problems, and the move helped stabilize them under the new Faith-Trinity United Methodist moniker. It was a union that would hold for more than three decades before a steady decline in membership eventually forced another decommissioning ceremony. On Jan. 28, 2018, Faith-Trinity was dissolved.
