Biographical Sketch

Born February 19, 1871 in Philadelphia, Ind., Stutsman graduated from DePauw University in 1895 and entered the North indiana Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church. He had married Lyda Winslow of Carthage, Ind. on August 19, 1891. Stutsman served churches in the North Indiana Conference and was general secretary of the Prisoners Aid Association of Maryland from 1906-1910, superintendent of the research bureau of the Board of Public Welfare in Kansas City, Mo. in 1910, superintendent of the Kansas City Municipal farm, Leeds, Mo. from 1913 to at least 1920. In 1926 his book, Curing the Criminal, was published.
