Collection Statement

This collection consists of History Seminar papers (1978) and records of items dealt with by History Department, including comprehensive evaluation, correspondence, graduate studies, study abroad certification, and syllabi. There are advanced placement records, Beveridge Fellowship Awards, History Chair nominations, Departmental announcements, minutes, and a number of addresses. Another portion of the collection includes papers written by advanced students.

Historical Sketch

History, a discipline that belongs to both the humanities and the social sciences, is the study of change over time. The History department brings historians and history makers to campus, encourages off-campus study and travel, shows films and documentaries, sponsors field trips to historical sites and assists students in finding history-related internships. The department offers introductory and advanced work in the following geographic fields: Africa, East Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States.
