Congregation originally founded in Point Commerce as Wesley Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church. Point Commerce as an entity died and the congregation moved to Worthington in 1858 as the Worthington Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1901, a new church was built and named Folsom Memorial after the church's benefactor. Subsequent name changes occurred for denominational reasons in 1939 and 1968.
