Scope and Contents
This collection includes photographs from the following events: a 2010 blood drive by Adam Gilbert (class of 2010) an out student at DePauw. The goal was to highlight the injustice of the FDA's refusal to accept blood donations from gay and bisexual men; the Matthew Shepard protest on October 20, 1998 in front of the Studebaker Administration building; the 1998 Denim Day as part of Coming Out Week; the 2000 "Creating Change" meeting in Chicago, Illinois; the Chrysler protest in December 1996; the Drag Ball, circa 1994-2000; the Queer Center, 1999; the Big Queer Van, October 11, 2000; and a "Marvins Delivers to the Big Queer Conference in Milwaukee" photograph, circa 2000.
Also included is an invitation for the opening of the Queer Center in March 1999; educational pamphlets; safe zone signage; United DePauw logos; newspaper clippings; and copies of a poster presentation composed of historical events on campus in relation to the LGBTQIA+ community.
