This collection was originally part of the audio/visual library of the Indiana Area Office. The collection has been divided into six series. They are: audio-reel to reel tapes, audio-cassette tapes, audio-phono discs, movies 16mm, negatives and photographs. Each series has been arranged by the type of media and then, within the series, alphabetically, except for the negatives which are arranged as closely as possible to their arrangement when at the Indiana Area Office. MC 738 includes mixed media types.

The audio-reel to reel tapes have also been arranged into five subseries. They are: 10 1/2 inch reels, 7 inch reels, 5 inch reels, 4 inch reels and 3 1/2 inch wire recordings.

The numbers assigned to the negatives are those that were originally given to them at the Indiana Area Office with the addition of a letter if the same number was given to several negatives. For example: number 51 had 14 negatives, they will be listed #51a, #51b, #51c and so on until the fourteenth negative which would be listed as #51n.
