Historical Sketch
DePauw President William Kerstetter wrote the following: "Mr. Rolla M. Malpas, insurance executive and quiet philanthropist, died June 22, 1963. Though he is now dead, he lives-and will live, with ever-increasing influence for good. For he bequeathed almost all of his possessions to The Malpas Trust, so that its income might be dedicated to providing scholarship assistance to outstanding young people of Indiana for study at DPU." The scholarships given in Rolla Malpas's name range from full tuition to full tuition, fees, and room and board. Eligibility is provided for those students born in Indiana and who maintained a B+ average in a publicly funded high school.
