The photographs are arranged in series. The first series contains photographs published in the 1953-56, 1969, 1978 and 1981 Mirages. These photographs are grouped by year. The second series contains both photographs that were and were not published in the 1983-1987 Mirages. These are arranged alphabetically. In the next two series, the photographs were used in the production of the 1989 and 1990 Mirages. They are arranged by the page number where they appeared in the publication. Historical Sketch
DePauw University first began publishing yearbooks in 1884. The first publication was called the Mirror. The name was changed to the Mirage in 1886. The Mirage has remained the annual for DePauw ever since, missing publication just a few years. Incidentally though, in 1908, the annual was renamed the Sombrero. It went back to Mirage the next year.
