Lucile Mildred Riley Reed scrapbook
Collection Statement
Lucile Riley's DePauw large scrapbook covers all four years of her time at DePauw through her graduation. It contains photographs, programs, numerous notes from friends and ephemera from her activities while at college. Included are Freshman Songs, Woman's Self-Government Association Constitution and Regulations, 1915 and 1916, the Suffrage Song, student government candidates, items relating to Old Gold Day and May Day, Walter Allen Store menu, Greek Candy Kitchen menu, and a letter from her younger sister Grace Riley. There are also photographs of her brother and sister, a hike to Putnamville, football action from a game against Butler University, her friends Icy A. Frost and husband-to-be, Donald Bridge, dormitory and sorority house interior scenes of friends in their rooms, a track meet against Wabash, May Day 1915, the "attic bunch" and girls shooting rifles. There are pressed flowers from her Alpha Chi Omega initiation ceremony and a 1916 formal. Programs include those for the Christmas Chapel services of 1914 and 1916, the Bishop Bowman Organ inauguration in 1914, Panthygetarian (a girl's club) Thanksgiving program, 1914, and Duzer Du.

Biographical Sketch
Lucile Mildred Riley from Crawfordville, Ind. was born January 7, 1897. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and a Phi Beta Kappa graduating from DePauw in 1918. After a stint doing work in Washington, DC for the World War I war effort, she was a teacher in Crawfordsville. She married Fenwick Thomas Reed, November 20, 1920. She later lived with her husband in Bloomington, Ind. and died there August 24, 1988.
