Biographical Sketch
Resident of Fortville, Indiana, and son of Methodist circuit rider Reverend Thomas Baker; William M. Baker was superintendent of Sunday school at the Fortville Methodist Church and noteworthy inventor, owning patents on various refrigerator and cabinet models as well as the sleeping car seats and couches that were later integrated into the Pullman types.
