Biographical Sketch
Born March 5, 1911, near Center, Indiana, Chester Clee Elson grew up in Kokomo. He graduated from DePauw University in 1936 where he played football. He married Bernice French in 1933 and the couple had one child, a son, Skip. Chet coached basketball and other sports in Madison and then Greencastle. He worked for General Motors, Allison Engine division during the war. He joined Mutual of Omaha insurance company in 1946 where he rose in responsibility. He died in 1992 (see Winter 1992 DePauw Alumnus magazine).
