Historical Note
Founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1867 with 16 charter members as Bethel Church of the Evangelical Association. The name changed in 1914 to First Evangelical Church. In 1946 it became affiliated with the United Brethren, then to be known as the First Evangelical United Brethren Church. On April 23, 1968 it became associated with the Methodists and a final name change to Faith United Methodist Church.
