Collection Statement
The collection consists of a scrapbook of photos, clippings, memorabilia, etc. from Garret Hasty Leverton's years at DePauw University and as a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Also included are some loose items: photo of Leverton, Newspaper clippings, articles from the Northwestern University Alumni News.

Biographical Sketch
Garrett Hasty Leverton earned his B.A. from DePauw University in 1919. He then earned a masters degree from Northwestern and a doctorate from Columbia University. Leverton taught in secondary schools for three years, was at Lake Forest College as head of the college's speech and drama department from 1924-28, and spent the next 10 years as head of the drama department of Northwestern University. He was editor for Samuel French Publishers, New York, for 11 years until his death in 1950. Before his death he gave his invaluable library of several thousand volumes of plays and manuscripts to Lake Forest College where they remain today.
