Biographical Sketch

Rev. Voris B. Servies was a Methodist minister in Indiana for fifty years (1904-1954) before retiring to Florida to live with family. He graduated from New Market High School and later attended Wabash College for three years. He also attended school at Garrett Bible Institute. Rev. Servies entered the Northwest Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church in 1904. During his fifty years in the ministry served the following churches: Kirkpatrick-Clarkshill (5 years), Hobart (4 years), Lowell (4 years), Goodland (6 years), Culver (8 years), Terre Haute Trinity (6 years), Kentland (12 years), Westpoint (2 years), and New Richmond (3 years). Rev. Servies also served as Conference treasurer for 8 years. Rev. Servies retired in 1949 but continued to work thereafter.
