Biographical Sketch

Class of 1913. Married to Walter Bruce Cochran '15. Esther Teeter was born in White County, Indiana, on August 4, 1891, and died in Massachusetts on December 29, 1972. Her parents were Dennis Perry Teeter (1856-1948) and Margaret Reid Teeter (1858-1897). Her family lived in Monticello for many years. She had five older brothers, two of which graduated from Purdue University, and four younger half-siblings. The older brothers worked as school teachers to put the younger siblings through college. The Teeter family first came to Montgomery County, Indiana in 1828. Esther's grandfather (William Jasper Teeter) was a soldier in the Civil War.
