Biographical Note

Martha Robes was part of the class of 1966 at DePauw University. Robes, trustee and donor, was a surviving heir of the Bancroft family who owned the Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal before selling it to Rupert Murdoch.

Martha Robes and Dana Robes made a gift to DePauw to meet the mental health and wellness needs of the students at DePauw in 2019. The Robes’ support funds the hiring of a professional health educator and enhance psychiatric services for students. The gift also supports peer-to-peer health education, as well as mental health assessments, self-help and counseling support available online, an approach that has been identified as especially effective with Generation Z students.
