Biographical / Historical
Paul Volcker came to DePauw in October of 2003 to give an Ubben Lecture and spoke about the state of the economy during that time. Volcker served as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1979 to 1987 under Presidents Carter and Reagan, and is credited with ending the inflation spiral that was present during the 1980s.
