Biographical

The family of Rev. Charles Thomas Todd (1883-1948) includes several Evangelical United Brethren ministers including: Rev. Sylvester Lemuel Todd (1860-1938) Rev. Elizabeth Jane Todd Shrode (1884-1968) Rev. Myrtle E. Toddd (1887-1918) Rev. William Henry Todd (1889-1936) - White River Conference Superintendent Rev. Joseph Otterbein Todd (1891-1978)

Rev. Charles Thomas Todd, eldest son of Rev. Sylvester Lemuel Todd and Mary Boyd Todd was born in Daviess County, Indiana. Here grew up near Odon, Indiana and in various charges where his father served as a pastor.

Rev. Charles Todd and Melva May Boyd were married by his father on November 24, 1902. As a young man he converted and joined the Good Hope Methodist Church. On November 26, 1910, he received an Exhorter License. He entered the ministry and preached the Methodist Episcopal Church in Oakland City, Indiana.

In 1911 Rev. Charles Todd moved to Vevay, Indiana where he affiliated with the United Brethren Church. He had a three year pastorate at Vevay.

Rev. Todd served as pastor in the following: Vevay, Indiana 1912-14; Fairview Center Church, Illinois 1915-17; Canton, Illinois 1918; Warld War I, France 1918-19; Freeport, Illinois 1920-22; Decatur, 3rd Church 1923-26; Indiana Central College 1927; Bonebrake Seminary, Dayton, Ohio 1927; Casey, Illinois 1928-29; Bloomington, Illinois 1920-31; Robinson, Illinois 1932-35; Danville Circuit 1936; Rockford, Illinois 1937-40; Charleston, Illinois 1941-46; Wood River, Illinois 1947-48.

In 1948 Rev. Charles Todd died at the home of his son, S. Boyd Todd, in Burney, Indiana. He was buried in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
