Historical Note

Ground was broken for for the Lilly Physical Education and Recreation Center in November 1979 and first opened for use in February 1982. An offical dedication was held April 24, 1982.

The Lilly Center (Lilly) is the University's primary indoor fitness and recreation facility, housing intercollegiate athletics and intramurals. The 16,000 square-foot, two-story Welch Fitness Center is open to all students. Lilly is also home to Kinesiology offices and laboratories, as well as a variety multipurpose rooms primarily supporting fitness classes, spin classes and dance.
