Biographical Sketch

Jesse Brumbaugh was professor emeritus of Oregon State College and a former professor of public speaking, rhetoric and psychology at DePauw from 1902-1906. He was professor of English and philosophy at Dakota Weslyan University from 1897-1901 and was elected vice-president of the school in 1898. After teaching at DePauw, he graduated from the University of South Dakota law school and was a professor of law there until 1913. A member of Phi Delta Theta and Phi Beta Kappa, he was the author of numerous publications in all fields of his diversified teaching career. He passed away August 9, 1958 following an extended illness.
