Jacob Boice Glick papers
Collection Statement
This collection is divided into four series. Series I mostly consists of Jacob Glick's journals and sermons. The journals include information on membership, marriages, baptisms and deaths in the churches where Glick served. Series II consists of Nellie McCreery Glick's school papers, while Series III contains the papers of her father, Rev. J. T. McCreery. Finally, Series IV consists of photographs of the Glick family. Most of the photos were unidentified, but with the help of the labeled photos, the other photos have been tentatively identified.

Biographical Sketch
Jacob Boice Glick, son of Samuel and Anne Boice Glick, was born July 11, 1880 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was raised in the Amish Faith until the age of sixteen when he was converted in the Oregon U. B. Church on the Lititz Charge. Here, in 1903, he received his Quarterly Conference license to preach. In 1913, he was ordained at the hand of Bishop W. M. Weekley.
In 1906, Glick entered Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, from which he graduated in June 1910. He was graduated with the Class of 1913 from Bonebrake Seminary.
During his summer Pastorate at Paris, Illinois, he met his future wife, Nellie, one of two daughters of the Rev. J. T. McCreery. They were married on September 24, 1913, just previous to his ordination at Allentown. To them were born two children, Anna Mary, who married Paul Hinton, and James Robert, deceased in 1924 when but a few days less than a year old.
Glick retired in 1948 due to ill health. He died August 16, 1953 at the age of 73 years, one month and five days. He was buried in Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
