Historical Sketch
Acme United Methodist Church was organized in 1860 as Pleasant Hill Church. The church building was erected in 1878. It has been a strong country church and has usually been served with Freetown and other nearby churches. It changed to Acme Church of the United Brethren in Christ in 1908. In 1938 the church building was remodeled and enlarged at a cost of $1,800. In 1960 two new Sunday School rooms were added. The inside of the church was remodeled at a cost of $4,500. The membership in 1968 was reported at 86.
