Historical Sketch
In 1896 the Hopewell Methodist Church united with the United Brethren. In 1900 plans were made for a new church building which was dedicated in August, 1901, with 40 charter members. In 1948 improvement were made at a cost of $1,500. The church was made a charge in 1951. A new parsonage was provided in 1953 at a cost of $15,000. A basement educational unit was added in 1956 at a cost of $3,473. Parsonage improvements and new garage in 1957 cost $1,200. A new sactuary was constructed and dedicated August 16, 1969, at a cost of about $24,000. In 1961 additional land was purchased west of the church for additional parking space. The membership in 1968 was reported as 162. Located at 6042 W 100 N, Greenfield, Indiana, the church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on December 1, 2022.
