Historical Sketch
A class was organized at Moss schoolhouse, two miles west of Anderson, about April, 1871. But this group became weak and was at the point of disbanding when a minister transferred services to the Baker Hill schoolhouse, three and one-half miles northwest of Anderson, where a great revival was held in March, 1883, and received 45 members into the church. Church services continued to be held in this schoolhouse until 1895, when Bailey Chapel was erected on a site near the schoolhouse. A basement and Sunday School rooms were added later at a cost of $3,600. A modern six-room parsonage, with full basement, was built at a cost of $11,000, and dedicated January 30, 1949. In 1950 a garage was built and landscaping added at a cost of $734. In 1952 the church interior was completely renovated. In 1955 a new fellowship building was erected for $8,000. The membership in 1968 was 49. Located at 1032 A Frankton Rd in Anderson, Indiana, the church closed on January 1, 1987.
