Historical Sketch
Founded as Indiana Avenue Methodist Episcopal Church in 1894, it became Mount Hope Methodist Church in 1931 and then Madison Avenue Methodist Church in 1961; Madison Avenue United Methodist Church merged with Florida Station United Methodist Church on May 4, 1969 to become Saint Matthew United Methodist Church. The church permanently closed June 30, 2021.
