Historical Sketch
Andersonville United Brethren Church (Andersonville, Posey Township, Franklin County, Ind.) was organized in 1866. The first frame church building was erected in 1867 at a cost of $1,250. The second building was erected in 1909 at a cost of $5,000. A five-room parsonage with acres of land was purchased in 1933 at a cost of $1,200. Three classrooms were added to the church building in 1939. In 1948 a new basement was added at a cost of $2,941. Improvements in 1952 included a new bathroom at the parsonage, rewiring and the installation of a new oil heater. The congregation voted to disband January 23, 1966.
