Collection Statement
This collection contains grade report record books while Otto Basye was a tutor at DePauw, his study notebooks for three DePauw classes, Otto's photograph, and genealogy data for the Basye family. It also contains a study notebook belonging to Mrs. Carrie Clyde Wynekoop Basye.

Biographical Sketch
Otto Basye was born in Bowling Green, Missouri, on April 27, 1872, attended public schools there, and later attended and graduated from Missouri Military Academy at Mexico, Missouri. Upon his graduation from DePauw University in 1896, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He taught school in Nappanee, Indiana and in Indianapolis, where he also studied law at the Indiana Central College (University of Indianapolis). He then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he lived and practiced law from 1905 until his retirement in 1958. He passed away February 6, 1960.
Carrie Clyde Wynekoop Basye was born in 1875. She graduated from DePauw University in 1898. Mrs. Basye passed away in 1948.
