Biographical Sketch
Harold Galloway, class of 1924, was at DePauw University during the 1920-1921 academic year when he played half-back for the football team. He was presented with the trophy following his game winning 52-yard drop-kick that was made in the final minute of the 1920 defeat of Wabash, 3-0. He left DePauw the following year to transfer to the University of Southern California, where he played quarterback for the football team that defeated Penn State in the 1923 Rose Bowl, 14-3.

Origin of the trophy
The trophy was presented to Harold Galloway following his game-winning kick. His son, Grady Galloway, later owned the trophy and presented it to the LA84 Foundation, an organization dedicated to the memory of the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles, California. The LA84 Foundation donated the trophy to DePauw University Archives in 2010.
Description and condition of the trophy
The silver trophy or loving cup is tarnished, somewhat mis-shapen and bent. However, it does not exhibit any scratches and the inscription is clear and crisp. It measures: 6.75 inches high x 7.75 inches long from handle to handle and 4.5 inches wide from rim to rim.
