Biographical Sketch

John W. Heath was born December 25, 1839 in Lafayette, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana Asbury Univeristy in 1860. He married Miss Mary A. Hanna on December 2, 1869. He was a merchant and a banker. He died September 4, 1890 in Lafayette, Indiana.

Custodial History

This collection was received by the Indiana Historical Society Library as a donation from Sydney F. Brown of Ocala, Florida in 1965/07. In return, the Library gave Mr. Brown 2 photocopies of the letters, of which one set to be given to DePauw University Archives on 1965/08/16.
