Chauncey Leon Isenhour papers

Chauncey Leon Isenhour was born on January 14, 1930 in Anderson, Madison, Indiana to Clara E Isenhour and Chauncey W Isenhour. He attended DePauw University in the Class of 1952. While at DePauw, Isenhour was part of the Greek Fraternity Alpha Tau Omega and met his future wife Marilyn. After his graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English, in 1952, he was drafted for the Korean War and spent around two years in the 25th Infantry Division. Once he returned to the States, he started his teaching career at an elementary school in Granger, Indiana and finished four years later teaching high school American Literature and directing school plays at Goshen High School in Goshen, Indiana. For the next few years after teacher, Isenhour was selling Yellowpages and Tax Services after which came 25 years at Steelcase in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Isenhour and his wife Mariyln were together for 55 years and Rving for 15 years before her death in a traffic accident in June of 2007. From 2010, Isenhour was living in Livingston, Texas, and was involved with an organization called Cy's enterprise. Chauncey Leon Isenhour died on September 23, 2019 at the age of 89. At the time of his death, he was living in Corpus Christi, Texas and had entered hospice care in late July. Isenhour is survived by three children: Claudia Beasley, Mark Isenhour, and Stephen Isenhour.
