Biographical Note

Herbert L. Heller was born March 12, 1908, in New Castle, IN. He was the son of Herbert and Mary (Smith) Heller. On May 31, 1942 he married Evelyn Crim and they have two children, Carol Lynn (Mrs. James A. Bruen) and David and two grandchildren.

Heller attended James Millikin University (1926-28) and the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines (1928-30). He received an A.M. (1931) and an Ed.D. (1952) from Indiana University and an M.S. (1938) from Ball State University.

His Career highlights include: U.S. Naval Reserve, South Pacific; technical writer, Philco Radio Corp; registrar, Hanover College; associate professor of education, DePauw University (1950-59); academic assistant to dean, California Western University; associate professor of education, Baldwin-Wallace College; and professor emeritus of education, Baldwin-Wallace College. He edited and authored numerous books and publications.

Heller died February 12, 1983, in Greencastle, Ind.
