Historical Sketch
The first Dad’s Day was held November 22, 1924. Dad’s Day Association organized November 2, 1938 with Montgomery S. Winning as the first president. Dad’s Day became separate from Old Gold Day starting in 1931. In 1979 the Dad’s Day Association reorganized to create a Parents’ Association. Parents’ weekends in the fall and spring replaced the existing Dads’ an Mothers’ weekends.
