Collection includes Administrative Council Minutes, Board of Trustees minutes, reports, membership, etc. Also included are minutes from General and Rebekah Circle of the Indianapolis Immanuel WSCS and UMW, sometimes written on the same page. Some dates are incomplete and some are missing. Section I includes General meeting minutes and Section II has Rebekah Circle meeting minutes.

Historical Sketch

The Immanuel Methodist Church was the result of the 1953 merger of the New Jersey Street and the Arlington Place Methodist churches, and first met in the Arlington Place Church at Arlington and Massachusetts Avenue. The congregation moved 2 1/2 blocks south to 32nd and North Webster. The New Jersey Street Methodist Church began as the First German Methodist Church in 1847. The name was changed to New Jersey Street during World War I. The Immanuel United Methodist Church closed December 1995.
