Historical Sketch
The Methodist organization at Bowling Green began in 1837. Meetings were first held at people's homes and later in the one room schoolhouse. In 1847, the first church was built out of sun-dried bricks of which many had the imprints of goat hooves in them. In March 1909, the old church building was torn down and a new one built. The new building was dedicated on January 20, 1910. The church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on July 1, 2023.
