Biographical Sketch
Miss Clara E. Jakes was a charter member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a teacher all of her life, and served most of her career as a worker for the Women’s Division of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. She was principal at Boylan Home School, Jacksonville, Florida, and at Mitchell School in North Carolina, dean of students at Pfeiffer Junior College and taught at Frances DePauw School, Los Angeles, California. She died February 10, 1981 in La Mesa, California.
