North Indiana Conference Trials records
Collection Statement
The North Indiana Conference Trials consist of trial transcripts and related papers dating from 1845 - 1899. The cases are Methodist ministers vs. the Methodist Church, specifically from the North Indiana Conference. If the outcome of the trial was discovered in the transcripts themselves or in North Indiana Conference minutes, it is so noted.
A second part of the collection contains parchments, preachers' licenses, and ordination certificates of North Conference Methodist ministers.
There are three document cases. The trials include folders one through forty-six, and are arranged alphabetically by the defendant's last name. The second part of the collection -- including the parchments, licenses, etc. -- are arranged in folders according to subjects.
