Biographical Sketch
George Born Manhart was born June 14, 1890, Philadelphia, Pa., son of Frank P. and Catharine (Born) Manhart. Received his A.B. in 1910 from Susquehanna University and in 1910/11 became Principal of Strawberry Ridge High School. He was the Assistant Professor of History at Baker University in 1917-19. Then from 1919-20 he was Instructor of History at DePauw University and in 1920-23 Assistant Professor of History. In 1947-48 George was Acting Dean of DePauw and in 1953 the Head of History Department.
