Historical Note
Center Chapel United Methodist Church was founded in 1888 in Center School house, with the support of 11 charter members. William Turner served as superintendent. The first minister of the church was O.E. Ivens. The church was dedicated October 2, 1892, by Reverend D.O. Darling. The church was remodeled in 1908 and again in 1940. The Ladies Aid Society was founded in 1909 by society president Ella Strautmeyer. Center Chapel disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022.
