Historical Note

Corinth United Methodist Church was established in 1859 in a one-room schoolhouse titled "McKinney Schoolhouse" in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. The church was led by Reverend J.B. Irvin and was a part of the Stoney Creek Circuit of the White River Conference of the United Brethren in Christ Church. The church began construction on a new building in 1869, followed by remodeling in 1905 and 1921. However, on December 15, 1940, the church was destroyed in a fire. Corinth United Methodist Church was rebuilt and rededicated in 1941. In 1968, Corinth and its sister church, Mt. Zion, merged. The church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on December 1, 2022.
