Biographical Sketch
Dr. Robert D. Newton, Jr. is Professor of Philosophy and Religion at DePauw University. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale in 1950, Dr. Newton studied at the Union Theological Seminary and earned his Bachelor of Divinity degree there in 1953. Newton received his doctorate from Columbia University in 1960. He and his wife, Ann, have 2 children. His service records is as follows: Instructor in Philosophy and Religion 1956-1958; Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religion 1958-1962; Associate Professor of Philosophy and Religion 1962-1969; Professor of Philosphy and Religion 1969-2008 (retired). He was born January 3, 1928 and died February 4, 2020.
