Historical Sketch
In 1828, the Methodist Church began meeting in peoples' homes. In 1829, Joseph Tarkington was appointed to White Lick circuit an a class formed by him. In 1831, a log school house was opened for preaching, but the little group gave so much expression to their zeal by shouting and singing, the trustees became alarmed. They thought the building might catch fire so it was closed to them. A building was constructed in 1839. The present church building was constructed in 1883 and has been fully refurbished.
