Biographical Sketch
Robert Hufford O'Hair was born October 27, 1896 in Greencastle. He attended DePauw and Indiana Universities. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the Coast Guard Reserve and Auxillary in World War II. He was active in DePauw alumni activities in the cities where he lived and was a former president of the DePauw Alumni Association of New York. He was also active in various national financial, business and advertising associations and was one of the early members of the Sons of Indiana in New York. In 1950 he was elected vice president of the Central National Bank in Greencastle and returned to his hometown to live. He was made Senior Vice President in 1967 and retired December 31, 1968. He passed away December 5, 1989. The O'Hair family in Putnam County goes back to the pioneer days and has been prominent in agricultural and business since that time.
