Historical Note
The organizational meeting of the Methodist Church in Plainfield was in 1836. At that time it was on a circuit. The first Sunday School of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Plainfield dates from 1844, When Alexander Worth, Robert King and Lindsey Blair were the leaders. The Ladies Aid Society was organized in 1880.
