Historical Note
Epworth United Methodist Church began as Salem Baptist Church in 1826 in a log cabin in Newburgh, Warrick County, Indiana. In 1851, the church was bought by the Epworth Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1868, the church moved into a new building. The church merged in 1939 to become Epworth Methodist Church, before merging again in 1968 to become the Epworth United Methodist Church. Epworth United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022.
