Biographical Note
Rev. Olin S. Stewart was a Methodist minister in the Northwest Indiana Conference. He was born in Jefferson, Ohio on June 3, 1882. He and his parents moved to Jasper County Indiana when he was 7 years old. On August 26, 1903 he married Ethel L. Pearson. They had 4 sons; Glenn, Albert, Delmar and Austin. For 6 years he taught school, then he was called into the ministry and was received on trial in the Northwest Indiana Conference in 1908. He served in the ministry for 13 years. His charges were: Pence, 2 years; Montmorenci, 5 years; Waveland and New Market, 6 1/2 years. To supplement his income he owned a grain elevator in Waveland. He was serving the Waveland & New Market charge for the seventh year when he passed away on January 19, 1922 from stomach cancer at the age of 39.
