Biographical Sketch
Demetrius Tillotson was born in Vermillion Co., Indiana, March 26, 1866. His boyhood was spent near Dana, where he attended the common schools. Later he attended DePauw University and Garrett Biblical Institute in Evanston, Illinois. In 1888 he joined the Northwest Indiana Conference where he spent his entire ministry except for a few years which he spent in the supernumerary relation. During this time he was Superintendent of a hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Tillotson held the retired relation from 1933-36. In 1937 he was field representative for DePauw University, and then in 1938 he retired, making his home in Greencastle where he was active in the work of Gobin Methodist Church. He died April 7, 1947.
