Historical Note
Fountaintown United Methodist Church was founded in 1857 in Fountaintown, Shelby County, Indiana. The church met in various buildings from 1857 to 1869 before settling in a new building in 1874. In 1934, Fountaintown United Methodist Church moved into a new building to accomodate a growing congregation. The church celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1974, with Reverend Floyd Cook presiding over the event. Fountaintown United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2023. As of 2024, the church continues its operations as Fountaintown New Beginnings Church.
