Historical Note

Francisco United Methodist Church was founded in 1854 as Francisco Church, a small log church located in Francisco, Gibson County, Indiana. In the early 1860s, the church moved into a new building, which was late abandoned due to windstorms in 1893. The church built a new building, which was dedicated in 1894 by W.R. Halstead. Francisco United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on July 1, 2023.
