Historical Note
First United Methodist Church was founded in 1844 in Greentown, Howard County, Indiana under Reverend James Burns. A new church building was constructed in 1854, and the church moved in to a new brick building in 1892. This building was destroyed by a tornado in 1965, and a new building was constructed in 1966. First United Methodist Church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2022.
