Historical Note

Greenville United Methodist Church was founded in 1830 in Greenville, Floyd County, Indiana. Reverend J.L. Thompson served as the first minister in the church. In 1838, the church moved into its first building, before moving into its second building in 1899. This building was recognized as a historic site in 2005. The church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on December 1, 2022.
